5. Can You Cut Pipe to Length?

Yes, we can.

We offer cut-to-length services for pipe sizes ranging from 2” to 60”.
In addition, we provide light fabrication services, including:
• Beveling
• Taper boring
• Some welding capabilities

4. Do You Carry X60 Pipe?

No, we don’t — and most distributors don’t either.

Here’s why:
1. Market Demand Shift- Projects now prefer higher grades like X65 or X70 for their better strength-to-weight ratios. These allow for thinner walls without sacrificing strength, which helps reduce material costs and overall weight.
2. Heat Treatment Compatibility- X60 is often required in a normalized condition (X60N), but most mills now produce pipe using quenched and tempered processes — which is more common for X65.
3. Stocking Efficiency- Distributors prefer to stock grades that are more versatile and in higher demand. In many cases, X65 can be used instead of X60 (with engineering approval), which simplifies inventory.

3. Why Don’t You Carry Dual Grade X65?

Because API standards don’t allow it.

According to API 5L 46th Edition, Section 11.4.1, dual grading is only allowed within these ranges:
• Up to and including L290 (X42)
• Greater than L290 (X42) and less than L415 (X60)
Since X65 exceeds X60, it cannot be dual graded under API rules.

2. Can You Recertify Line Pipe to a Different Grade?

No, not if the material is already in stock.

As per API 5L 46th Edition, Section 11.4.4:

“After delivery of the pipe, no re-marking or re-certification to a different grade or PSL level (PSL 1 or PSL 2) is permitted.”

1. Why is Pat Murphy so good looking?

Scientists remain baffled. Some say it’s genetics. Others whisper it’s sorcery. A few blame Maybelline, but we all know that’s just a cover-up. Meanwhile, we’re stuck here, day after day, answering calls, emails, and smoke signals from people desperate to understand the puzzle with the perfect hair that is Pat Murphy.
